Rishi Sunak is set to sign a new Brexit deal with the EU today after face-to-face talks with the European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen.
No 10 raised the prospect that the talks could produce a breakthrough moment after months of negotiations with Brussels about fixing issues with the Northern Ireland Protocol to ease economic troubles for businesses operating on both sides of the Irish Sea.
The Prime Minister, following on from his discussions with the EU chief, is planning to brief his Cabinet before potentially announcing to voters and MPs the details of any agreed deal.
