The Bay is back for a fourth series with the spotlight focused on another serious crime in Morecambe and its repercussions for all involved.
Famed for its twisting plots and coastal scenery, the show has become a hit for ITV and for those who found Yorkshire-set Happy Valley too graphic this may be the answer just over the border in Lancashire.
ITV has already disclosed a taste of what is to come in this latest instalment, with an arson attack triggering a new investigation.
DS Jenn Townsend, Morecambe Police’s Family Liaison Officer, races to the scene to find the the Metcalf family facing an unfolding horror
While trying to uncover the truth behind what has happened, DS Townsend must also come to terms with troubles closer to home as she gets to grips with the realities of having a house full of teenagers and a blended family.

Who stars in series 4 of The Bay?
Marsha Thomason is back in the lead role of Detective Sergeant Jenn Townsend. She replaced Morven Christie, who took the starring role in the first two series.
Also returning are: Daniel Ryan as DI Anthony “Tony” Manning, Erin Shanagher as DS Karen Hobson, Andrew Dowbiggin as DS James “Clarkie” Clarke, Thomas Law as DC Eddie Martin, Barry Sloane as Chris Fischer, Georgia Scholes as Erin Fischer, David Carpenter as Conor Townsend and Emme Hayes as Maddie Townsend.
This season sees the Metcalf family take centre stage played by:

What time is it on and where?
Daragh Carville, the writer and co-creator, said of the new series: “We’re always trying to break new ground and tell new kinds of stories.
“If you liked the previous three series of The Bay, then you will definitely love series four.
“As we explore another tragedy, we unpick threads and we reveal more and more layers, secrets and lies within the family and within the wider community.”
There are six episodes in total in the new series, with the first airing on Wednesday 8 March at 9pm on ITV1 and then weekly on Wednesday evenings. It will also be available on ITVX.
