The contents of this year’s Oscars goodie bag have been revealed, ranging from a liposuction appointment to a plot of land in Australia.
All acting and directing nominees receive a goodie bag, with 2023’s offering valued at $126,000 (£106,000).
Brands pay $4,000 (£3,370) for the honour of their products being included – though there is no obligation for any of the nominees to promote or even accept the gifts.
What’s in the 2023 Oscars goodie bags?
The bag contains 60 items, with an overall focus on luxury wellness promotion.
The items revealed include:
- Plot of land in Australia (size and location unknown)
- Three-night stay for eight in a lighthouse on a volcanic Italian island
- Three-night stay in rural Ottawa
- Facelift with celebrity surgeon Dr Konstantin Vasyukevich
- Hair restoration consultation
- Box of chocolates with a video message in the box

- Hand-harvested organic dates
- Silk pillowcases
- NaturGeeks function wellness “immunity boost”

The goodie bags are unaffiliated with the Academy, and are sent by a company called Distinctive Assets.
Speaking about the nominees, Lash Fary, the founder of Distinctive Assets, told Forbes: “Obviously they can afford to go where they want. It’s not about the fact that this is free. It’s about the fact that we’ve found a unique place that has built-in privacy for a celebrity.
“I mean, it’s a hillside lighthouse on an island off the coast of Italy. It’s very private.”
What’s on the 2023 Oscars menu?
This year’s Oscars menu comes from British chef Elliott Grover, the executive chef of Cut at 45 Park Lane.
Cut is Oscars caterer Wolfgang Puck’s London restaurant, and this year’s menu will have a distinctly British theme.
The menu will start with a cone of fish and chips, followed by a chicken pie and a trifle – all in miniature form.
Grover told Vice of his fish and chips, which are fried in beef dripping: “People will be celebrating so they’ll be more open to it and it’s only a four-biter. I might get away with it – maybe.”
The pie is served with shavings of black truffle, while the trifles are topped with a maraschino cherry.
