Football Focus presenter Alex Scott has pulled out of appearing on the show today in solidarity with Gary Lineker.
The programme was scheduled to air at noon but presenter Alex Scott tweeted shortly after 10am that she would not be going ahead with presenting.
Former England player Scott said: “I made a decision last night that even though I love my show and we have had an incredible week winning an SJA for football focus that it doesn’t feel right for me to go ahead with the show today.
“Hopefully I will be back in the chair next week.”
It was initially reported that BBC presenter Kelly Somers would be filling in for Scott, but she also tweeted on Saturday morning that she would not be appearing.
“Just to confirm I won’t be on BBC television today,” she tweeted.
Sky News has reported that the show has now been pulled from the air.
It comes after a number of football pundits and commentators pulled out of appearing on Saturday’s Match Of The Day after the BBC announced it had asked Gary Lineker to step down from the show following a row over impartiality.
