Jane McDonald will replace Phillip Schofield as the host of the British Soap Awards on Saturday, according to reports.
It comes after Schofield resigned from This Morning and stepped down from hosting the ceremony following a row over his extramarital affair with a younger male colleague.
The presenter has also quit ITV altogether.
McDonald, 60, will take Schofield’s place on stage at The Lowry in Salford Quays to honour the best in soap.
The singer and presenter is best known for her TV series Cruising With Jane McDonald, as well as her long stint on Loose Women.
